Overview

At over 5928 mts. Hanuman Tibba is a good peak to scale for first time mountaineers. The peak of Hanuman Tibba is accessible from its south-west face, a good approach to the peak but quite challenging. This expedition is difficult but most enchanting and full of scenic beauty and one has something a good close view of wild animal life like Black and red bears, ibex etc.

Detailed Itinenary

Day 1

Early drive to Solang (1/2 Hrs.), Hike to Bakkar Thach (3150 Mts.) (5 Hrs.) Alpine Trek to Beas Kund (3900 Mts.)The upper kullu valley offers some fantastic alpine scenery. The main advantage being its easy accessibility. At the head of the valley the great snowy ridge of solang raises its towering head. This majestic ridge is the meeting point of the mighty Dhauladhar and Pir-Panjal Ranges and is blessed with a series of jagged parallel mountain chains and summits, such as the beautiful Hanuman Tibba massif at 5928 Mtrs. Camp at Bakkar Thach (above the tree line).

Day 2

Bakkar Thach / Beas Kund (3540) 4/5hrs Load ferry cum acclimatization walk up to ABC and same day back to Base camp

Beas Kund / ABC / Beas Kund Load ferry cum acclimatization walk up to ABC and same day back to Base camp

Day 5

Beas Kund / ABC Establishment of Base camp and acclimatization walk near by

Day 6

ABC / TENTU PASS / C-1 (4996m) 5 hrs Load ferry cum establishment of C-1 and occupy the camp no. 01. The trek is arduous on the moraine, ice gully and very tiring. The pass is very heavily glaciated. From pass one can look into both of the valleys of Bara Bhangal and Kullu and have close view of Hannuman Tibba (5928m). The pass is little windy and very cold during night.Cross the glacier and moraine area and reach near the lake. Establish C-1 on the last point of the valley.

Day 7

C-1 / C-2 (5200m) 3/4hrs. Load ferry cum establishment of C-2 and occupy the camp no. 02. After heaving a breakfast start towards camp II. Today’s track is totally on the flat glacier which gained gradual height towards camp II. You will cover the track in 3/4 hours and reach camp afternoon.

Day 8

C-2 / Summit/ C-2 8/10 hrs. The final assault will be mixed climbing of crevasses, glacier and rocks. Follow the right ridge towards the summit.

Day 9

C-2 / C-1 / Taintu Pass

Day 10

Taintu Pass / ABC / Beaskund

Day 11

Beaskund / Dhundi/ Solang / Manali Trek all the way down to Solang and you will be picked up and driven to Manali.
